Avis aux amateurs et designers d’intérieur, ce rare carré collector de 79 ans, représente la ronde des diverses races de gallinacés, Black Bantams, Japanese Bantams, Crève Coeurs, Silver Pencilled Hamburghs et autres…. illustré par Philippe Dauchez, et édité en 1946, l’illustrateur a collaboré avec la Maison hermès en concevant des dessins pour des écharpes et carrés. Né en 1900 à Paris et décédé en 1984, il fut un Artiste et Peintre Officiel de la Marine à partir de 1948. Formé à la menuiserie et au dessin à l’école des Fourriers de Rochefort, il a consacré sa vie à la voile et à la peinture. En twill de soie aux bords roulottés main, cette illustration se décline sur fond  couleur gris très pale aux couleurs primaires de rouge et vert. Le nom figure au centre, le copyright datant de 1967 est donc absent de ce carré de 1946.

Malgré son grand âge et ses imperfections dues au temps passé, deux petits trous dans la bordure, quelques tâches, voir les détails sur les photos, ce carré reste raisonnablement en bon état de conservation. Rare et recherché par les collectionneurs et amateurs de carrés Hermès très anciens, cet exemplaire reste un modèle pratiquement épuisé et oublié. Notice to amateurs and interior designers, this rare collector square of 79 years, represents the round of the various breeds of gallinaceous, Black Bantams, Japanese Bantams, Crève Coeurs, Silver Pencilled Hamburghs and others.... illustrated by Philippe Dauchez, and published in 1946, the illustrator collaborated with the Hermès House by designing drawings for scarves and squares.  Born in 1900 in Paris and died in 1984, he was an Official Artist and Painter of the Navy from 1948. Trained in carpentry and drawing at the Fourriers school of Rochefort, he devoted his life to sailing and painting. In silk twill with hand-rolled edges, this illustration is declined on a very pale gray background with red and green primary colors. The name appears in the center, the copyright dating from 1967 is therefore absent from this square of 1946.

Despite its great age and imperfections due to the passage of time, two small holes in the border, a few stains, see the details on the photos, this square remains reasonably well preserved. Rare and sought after by collectors and lovers of very old Hermès scarves, this copy remains a virtually exhausted and forgotten model.
