Le procédé « SURTEINT » réalisé en 2017 par la Maison Hermès a été mis au point pour surteindre les carrés déjà existants en les plongeant dans un bain de teinture spécifique. Ce procédé permettait aux clientes de modifier la couleur d’origine de leur carré par un filtre coloré. Un rinçage, un assouplissant de la soie et un séchage lui permettant de devenir plus souple, plus velouté, légèrement patiné est devenu un procédé idéal pour les grands carrés de 140 cms difficiles à porter lorsqu’ils sont trop raides. Une étiquette spécialement conçue pour cette opération authentifie cette opération avec l’inscription d’un coté : SURTEINT DIP DYE HERMÈS PARIS et le logo de la marque, de l’autre coté : 100% SOIE SILK DRY CLEAR ONLY, MADE IN FRANCE. Ce bel exemplaire en twill de soie aux bords roulottés main reprend des détails du modèle Brazil édité en 1988 par Laurence BERTHOUMIEUX. Ces plumes d’oiseaux colorés se retrouvent sur les costumes, bijoux et coiffes qui sont très présentes dans la vie des brésiliens.Le traitement SURTEINT DIP DYE lui confère douceur et velouté pour le porter en châle ou en étole. Vendu en boite. Le nom de la Maison figure en bas à droite, le copyright se retrouve en haut à gauche. Dimensions 140 x 140 cms. Ce rare carré est en bel état d’origine, de conservation et d’usage. The "SURTEINT" process carried out in 2017 by the Maison Hermès was developed to overdye already existing squares by immersing them in a specific dyeing bath. This process allowed clients to modify the original color of their square with a colored filter. A rinse, a silk softener and drying allowing it to become more supple, more velvety, slightly patinated has become an ideal process for large squares of 140 cms difficult to wear when they are too stiff. A label specially designed for this operation authenticates this operation with the inscription on one side: SURTEINT DIP DYE HERMÈS PARIS and the brand logo, on the other side: 100% SILK DRY CLEAR ONLY, MADE IN FRANCE. This beautiful example in silk twill with hand-rolled edges features details from the Brazil model published in 1988 by Laurence BERTHOUMIEUX. These colorful bird feathers are found on costumes, jewelry and headdresses that are very present in the lives of Brazilians. The SURTEINT DIP DYE treatment gives it softness and velvety to wear in shawl or stole. Sold in a box. The name of the House appears at the bottom right, the copyright is found at the top left.
